Energy Use Programs

As part of MGE's Energy 2030 framework, we are advancing new technologies to help customers save energy, control costs and reduce our collective impact. By working with our customers, we can reach our goal of achieving net-zero carbon electricity by 2050.

Managing our collective energy use is one of MGE's strategies for advancing this goal. Smart technologies can help manage your household energy use—and help manage our electric grid.

MGE Connect®

MGE Connect is our optional demand response program for customers with eligible smart home devices. When enrolled, these devices automatically shift energy use during times of high electricity demand. Participants earn a reward upon acceptance into the program and an annual incentive for participating.

Two MGE Connect device programs are available:

Smart Thermostats

Eligible smart thermostats automatically adjust the temperature during peak demand days to help reduce our collective energy use.
