Education about the wise use of energy is important to help students prepare for and to help create a more sustainable future. MGE partners with elementary schools to teach kids about energy—where it comes from, how it’s used and how technologies are rapidly evolving.

MGE seeks to meet our customers where they are, developing culturally competent materials and resources to meet the needs of all those we serve, including our youngest energy users. By recognizing different ways of learning and connecting, we strive to deliver information and resources that are meaningful and relatable.

La Lotería de la Energía

In 2024, MGE partnered with local artist Rodrigo Carapia to create La Lotería de la Energía (Energy Bingo), a new Spanish language resource for schools. Drawing inspiration from the classic Mexican bingo game La Lotería, this updated version blends traditional Latino-inspired imagery with energy concepts. The result is an engaging, educational activity that has been met with enthusiasm by both educators and students. It’s a fun and interactive way to help students learn key energy concepts while celebrating cultural heritage.

Energy education isn’t just about teaching facts—it’s about inspiring the next generation of energy leaders. By focusing on youth engagement, career exploration and cultural celebration, we can create a future where students are not only energy conscious but also empowered to contribute to a sustainable world.
