MGE's electric service reliability was ranked No. 1 in a nationwide utility industry survey.

In 2007, MGE customers experienced the fewest and shortest electric outages compared to other utility service territories across the country. MGE has ranked among the top 10 utilities for electric service reliability each year from 2002 to 2007.

We plan ahead and invest in infrastructure. We don't wait for problems to escalate, we fix them. MGE makes considerable effort each year to expand, upgrade and repair its electric distribution system.

• In 2008, MGE began work on a new substation in Fitchburg and expanded capacity at three others.
• MGE crews routinely replace aging underground cable, convert distribution lines to higher voltage and trim trees.
• Quick-response reliability teams restore power and analyze outages to minimize recurring problems.
